TL;DR
Commissioning Planning Engineer (Oil & Gas): Planning and monitoring pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for a major LNG development in Mozambique with an accent on schedule control, progress measurement, and interface management. Focus on analyzing critical paths, challenging contractor schedules, integrating yard and operations activities, and improving project reporting.

Location: Afungi, Mozambique, with missions to Milan, Italy during the early phase of the assignment. Rotation: 4x4. Start date: September 2026. Mission duration: 12 months.

Support a major international Oil & Gas project involving LNG development, offshore installation activities, subsea infrastructure, and high-value pipeline systems.

What you will do

  • Prepare and maintain the commissioning schedule in coordination with package planners.
  • Update forecasts, monitor progress, analyze variances, and identify schedule risks, reserves, and contingencies.
  • Develop scheduling structures based on systems and subsystems and integrate yard, upstream, start-up, and operations activities.
  • Review and challenge contractor and subcontractor schedules, including durations, quantities, logic, and critical paths.
  • Prepare progress reports, planning KPIs, and schedule performance analyses for Project Management.
  • Support planning digitalization, reporting improvements, project meetings, and invoice verification.

Requirements

  • Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project controls and planning on major Oil & Gas projects.
  • Significant experience with commissioning and start-up of large Oil & Gas plants.
  • Expertise in planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and critical path analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Project, Milestones Pro, Thinkcell, and Excel.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; French and/or Portuguese knowledge is an advantage.
