General Manager | Retail

Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and surrounding GTA; onsite

Salary: CAD 126,590–145,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the operational, financial, and strategic performance of a portfolio of retail properties.
• Coach and develop a multidisciplinary property management team.
• Oversee operating and capital budgets, revenues, expenses, financial reporting, and asset value initiatives.
• Act as the primary contact for asset managers, owners, tenants, service partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure life safety, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and high property standards.
• Manage vendors and consultants, and lead sustainability and ESG initiatives focused on energy, emissions, water, and waste.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of progressive commercial real estate experience, including 5 years in senior property management leadership.
• University degree or diploma in business, commerce, or economics.
• Strong financial, organizational, project management, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Working knowledge of real estate law, lease structures, and commercial tenancy.
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; Yardi Voyager experience is an asset.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; applicants must be authorized to work full-time in Canada.

Nice to have

• CPM, RPA, or LEED GA designation.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager.
