Lead Insurance Data Scientist - P&C

Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid at U.S. office locations

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annual base pay, excluding bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Collect, integrate, cleanse, and manage data from insurance-related sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights in complex datasets.
• Develop analytical solutions and process efficiencies using statistical methods, database technologies, and programming tools.
• Create dashboards, visualizations, and reporting assets for business stakeholders.
• Prototype new ideas, support statistical research, and address recurring business and data quality challenges.
• Collaborate with solution engineers and business stakeholders to operationalize analytics on Azure Databricks.

Requirements

• Actuarial experience with commercial insurance Property & Casualty lines is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Databricks.
• Experience with relational databases and core data analysis techniques.
• At least 3 years of experience in an actuarial, data analyst, data science, or comparable analytical role in an insurance brokerage environment.
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and analytical judgment skills.

• Familiarity with hypothesis testing and other statistical evaluation techniques.
