TL;DR
Lead Front-end Architect (React): Defining and building scalable front-end architectures for complex digital projects with an accent on React, Next.js, headless platforms and composable API-first solutions. Focus on translating requirements into technical designs, guiding delivery, coaching developers, and maintaining CI/CD, Docker and cloud deployment environments.
Location: Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium; flexible work organisation with team collaboration in the office

What you will do
- Own front-end architecture for complex digital projects and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Create technical designs, epics and development plans while identifying risks, dependencies and missing requirements.
- Develop complex components and establish engineering standards through hands-on coding, reviews and technical decisions.
- Support pre-sales with workshops, solution design, estimates and client presentations.
- Coach developers and collaborate with project managers, designers, architects, developers and account managers.
- Maintain development platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker environments and cloud deployments, including responsible use of AI tools.
Requirements
- Fluent English and Dutch required; French is a plus.
- Strong experience defining front-end architectures and contributing to technical quotations and estimations.
- React, Next.js, JavaScript and preferably TypeScript.
- HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS, headless and composable architectures, and headless CMS platforms such as Contentful and Strapi.
- Shopify, GraphQL, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, Docker, cloud deployments and Vercel.
- Unit testing, accessibility and performance testing, plus translating requirements into technical delivery plans.
Nice to have
- Drupal front-end theming, Vue, Node, Builder.io, Storybook, shadcn/ui, Vite or Webpack, Bootstrap or n8n.
- Shopify Hydrogen, Liquid or theme extensions.
