Legal Counsel – Group (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the business.
• Support strategic initiatives, transactions and cross-border projects across multiple jurisdictions.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements for business and client objectives.
• Advise on corporate, commercial, regulatory, data protection and financial services matters.
• Develop legal frameworks, policies, governance standards, precedents and guidance materials.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, deliver legal training and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisers.

Requirements

• Qualified Barrister in Mauritius and called to the Bar in the UK.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years in an in-house legal role.
• Strong knowledge of trust, corporate, commercial, fund and financial services law.
• Experience working in a regulated or professional services environment and handling matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, contract review, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to turn complex legal concepts into clear, practical and business-focused advice.
