Software Engineering Director (Embedded Systems)

Location: Shenzhen, Guangdong, China; onsite collaboration with partner engineering teams is required as needed.

What you will do

• Lead architecture, design, and full-cycle development of consumer products from concept through production.
• Oversee software and firmware teams and facilitate technical discussions with internal teams and external partners.
• Evaluate, prototype, and integrate third-party SDKs and deliver proof-of-concept implementations.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for partner engineering teams during onsite collaboration.
• Hire, mentor, and scale a cross-functional engineering team from the ground up.
• Collaborate with project managers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver products on schedule.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building, leading, hiring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
• Deep expertise in system architecture across firmware, embedded systems, and application software.
• Experience developing native and cross-platform applications for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows.
• Strong knowledge of Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy, USB, Wi-Fi, multicast, mDNS, and HTTP APIs.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Swift, and TypeScript, with experience in bare-metal and RTOS firmware development.
