Plastics Technician Die Setter/Fitter – Blowmoulding

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand; on-site at the Christchurch manufacturing site

Salary: NZD $35.00–$43.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus 1.5x overtime and additional KiwiSaver.

What you will do

• Perform die and mould changeovers and set up blowmoulding machines.
• Adjust process parameters to improve machine uptime, efficiency, output, and material usage.
• Complete start-up checks and ongoing quality inspections, making process adjustments when required.
• Troubleshoot machinery, tooling, and process issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain process setting sheets, quality checks, equipment adjustment records, and production documentation.
• Train operators, promote safe work practices, and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and technical teams.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Plastics Technician, Die Setter, or in a similar blowmoulding manufacturing role.
• Experience operating and setting blowmoulding machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
• Knowledge of quality assurance systems and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A relevant trade qualification is desirable but not essential.
