Vulnerability Researcher - Consultant (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Research vulnerabilities in critical systems and niche applications.
• Analyse interactions between software, hardware, infrastructure, and user interfaces.
• Develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and working prototypes using third-party components and custom-built elements.
• Apply emerging techniques, troubleshoot rapidly, and analyse technical results.
• Present conclusions and recommend directions for further research.
• Work with clients to understand requirements and deliver high-quality outcomes across projects lasting from several months to years.

Requirements

• Strong undergraduate degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or a related subject.
• Applied experience in vulnerability research.
• Fluent programming skills in C, C++, or Python.
• Knowledge of low-level interactions between system software and hardware, such as operating system driver-level concepts.
• Creative problem-solving skills, an independent mindset, and broad interest in cybersecurity developments.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance is required; UKVI visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in the UK defence and security sector.
• Client-facing experience.
• Expertise in reverse engineering, cyber-physical systems, network and protocol analysis, embedded systems, virtualisation and containerisation, or simulation and data analysis.
