TL;DR
Staff Frontend Engineer (Vue): Shaping and evolving frontend architecture for large real-estate marketplace portals with an accent on shared frontend solutions, performance, accessibility, reliability, and cross-team technical leadership. Focus on designing reusable libraries and design systems, orchestrating framework migrations and microfrontend changes, and driving observability, testing, and AI adoption across multiple teams.
Location: Hybrid work from the SMG office at Thurgauerstrasse 36, Zurich, Switzerland, with flexibility to work remotely

What you will do
- Set frontend technical direction across multiple teams and align engineers, product managers, designers, and senior stakeholders.
- Own the technical vision for key real-estate user journeys, focusing on performance, accessibility, UX quality, and reliability.
- Design and drive adoption of shared frontend libraries, components, design-system improvements, tooling, and observability patterns.
- Lead cross-team refactors, framework upgrades, cross-product harmonisation, and frontend technology evaluations.
- Mentor engineers, facilitate frontend guilds and knowledge-sharing sessions, and raise engineering quality through reviews and coaching.
- Promote testing, monitoring with Datadog, security, operational excellence, and effective use of AI and large language models.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience with Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks.
- Strong experience building large-scale applications with modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including production experience with Vue 3 or comparable frameworks.
- Staff, Lead, or equivalent technical leadership experience with complex cross-team initiatives, technical strategy, stakeholder alignment, and execution.
- Experience with automated frontend testing using Jest, Vitest, and/or Cypress, plus modern CI/CD, automated releases, feature flagging, and microfrontends.
- Experience creating shared frontend solutions, mentoring senior engineers or tech leads, and influencing technical change across multiple teams.
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly in an international team.
Nice to have
- Experience with web performance, accessibility, SEO, server-side or hybrid rendering, edge/CDN optimisation, and frontend integration with APIs and microservices.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including AWS Lambda.
