Math Instructor

What you will do

• Teach mathematics in a Job Corps classroom and maintain lesson plans aligned with course material.
• Create a positive, disciplined, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student motivation and learning.
• Use available curriculum resources and establish effective student/instructor rapport.
• Track attendance, student progress, evaluations, case notes, and required reports.
• Complete required Job Corps documentation and support inventory, classroom preparation, cleanliness, and property accountability.
• Follow safety practices, operational procedures, corporate policies, and required staff training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Teaching certification in Texas is required; certification may be waived if the center cannot hire a certified teacher, but certification must then be pursued.
• Experience working with diverse youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work onsite in San Marcos, Texas.
