Head of Department, Department of Management (Academic Leadership): Leading a multidisciplinary academic department to strengthen impactful research, industry connections, teaching quality, and student outcomes with an accent on strategic direction, people management, and resource oversight. Focus on driving innovation, organisational change, external engagement, and continuous academic improvement across management, programs, and partnerships.
Location: Primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast, Australia; may require work across other university locations. Brisbane South is scheduled to relocate to Griffith CBD in February 2027.

What you will do
- Provide strategic direction and leadership across teaching, research, engagement, and people management.
- Strengthen impactful research, industry connections, and student outcomes within the Department of Management.
- Lead initiatives that improve departmental reputation, performance, and contribution to university strategy.
- Manage complex teams, performance, budgets, and resources.
- Build relationships with academic colleagues, students, industry stakeholders, professional associations, and community partners.
- Foster innovation, collaboration, academic achievement, integrity, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Requirements
- Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent accreditation and standing.
- Strong record of achievement in learning and teaching, research, and/or industry engagement.
- Proven experience managing people, performance, budgets, and resources to achieve strategic objectives.
- Ability to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and lead organisational change.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to academic excellence, integrity, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
