TL;DR
Senior Web Engineer (React/TypeScript): Building production web applications and reusable published npm packages and SDKs for Santander’s shared web platform ecosystem with an accent on component architecture, accessibility, library management, and scalable API design. Focus on developing complex React components, integrating platform building blocks, optimizing performance, and validating quality through automated testing and CI/CD.
Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model with some days remote and some days onsite

What you will do
- Build production web applications and reusable React packages and SDKs published through npm or JFrog Artifactory.
- Develop complex React components, complete screens, custom hooks, and headless components for the web platform.
- Design maintainable component architectures using state management, unidirectional data flow, clean architecture, and separation of concerns.
- Integrate remote, streaming, and real-time data through REST, SSE, WebSockets, and typed runtime validation.
- Optimize application performance, bundle size, code splitting, rendering, and virtualization of dynamic lists.
- Maintain quality through accessibility testing, unit and end-to-end testing, code analysis, reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of dedicated professional web frontend development experience with React.
- Professional experience delivering libraries or packages/SDKs as products in collaborative team environments.
- Advanced TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills, including public API design, asynchronous models, and package management.
- Experience with React architecture, state management, Vite, library bundlers, monorepos, ESM/CJS outputs, and semantic versioning.
- Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen readers, and accessibility tooling.
- Native Spanish and English at a minimum B2 level are required; all code, documentation, and platform communication are written in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with secure OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, CSP, XSS/CSRF mitigation, micro-frontends, SSR/SSG, or PWA development.
- Familiarity with Web Vitals, Lighthouse CI, bundle analysis, code generation, i18next, Lottie, Figma Code Connect, or Tokens Studio.
