On-Site Part-time Victim Advocate Daegu, Korea (Domestic Violence Advocacy): Providing crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, and coordinated community support for victims of domestic abuse and child abuse within the Army Family Advocacy Program, with an accent on confidential victim services, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Focus on responding to crises, guiding families through investigations and legal processes, coordinating protective and community resources, and maintaining ongoing advocacy cases.

Location: On-site in Daegu, Korea, at USAG Daegu

Salary: $41,505–$62,255 per year

What you will do

  • Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, risk and lethality assessments, and confidential advocacy for victims of domestic abuse.
  • Help victims access transportation, medical, legal, law enforcement, protective order, food, shelter, and community resources.
  • Guide children and families through abuse investigations, prosecution processes, victim rights, compensation applications, and relevant appointments.
  • Coordinate with the Family Advocacy Program Manager, military and civilian agencies, first responders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct domestic abuse prevention, awareness, education, and training programs for Soldiers, Family members, and eligible civilians.
  • Maintain case management records, complete data entry within three business days, conduct required follow-up, and transfer or close cases appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family or child counseling, behavioral science, education, community health, or public health.
  • At least two years of experience working with victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, or victim advocacy services.
  • Working knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessment, community resources, applicable laws, family law, and victims’ rights.
  • Ability to work independently, intervene in crisis situations, develop safety and intervention plans, and build trusting relationships with diverse individuals and families.
  • Valid, unrestricted motor vehicle license and personal transportation for non-emergency victim transport when necessary.
  • Availability for 24/7 victim advocacy coverage, including primarily nights, weekends, and some daytime hours; a flexible schedule is required.

  • Understanding of Problematic Sexual Behavior–Child and Youth cases.
