Storage Engineer I

Location: Remote, Philippines; primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00-17:00, with off shifts, nights, weekends, and 24/7 on-call rotation as required

What you will do

• Implement and support complex enterprise storage and data protection projects across physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor and tune disk I/O, bandwidth, processor, port utilization, performance, availability, and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve storage and backup hardware and software failures, including tier 2 and tier 3 vendor troubleshooting.
• Administer SAN fabric, fiber-attached configurations, NAS permissions, SMB and NFS protocols, virtual platforms, partitioning, and clustered environments.
• Evaluate software and firmware updates, conduct impact analysis, and implement corrective and preventive solutions.
• Create policies, standards, procedures, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation while training and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of enterprise storage engineering experience, or equivalent experience alongside a college diploma or university degree in computer science, telecommunications, information sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with Rubrik Backup/Recovery, deduplication and compression, VMware VADP and VCB backup APIs, and enterprise backup and recovery methodologies.
• Working knowledge of EMC PowerMax, Dell PowerScale NAS, Cisco MDX SAN fabric, NetApp Data ONTAP AFF, and virtualized data center architecture.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, SAN and NAS monitoring, health reporting, high-availability configurations, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, customer service, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
• Must be available for a 24/7 on-call rotation and be based in the Philippines.
