VP, Cloud Security Operations (Cybersecurity)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid

Pay range: $154,706–$257,912 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional engineering efforts to improve integration, interoperability, scalability, and cloud security readiness.
• Optimize SIEM ingestion pipelines, cloud logging, event normalization, telemetry enrichment, detection coverage, and routing.
• Assess security capabilities and identify visibility gaps, detection gaps, integration weaknesses, redundant tooling, and automation opportunities.
• Develop engineering standards and integration patterns for telemetry, logging, alert enrichment, automation workflows, and platform interoperability.
• Build automation tooling with Python, PowerShell, Go, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and orchestration platforms.
• Coordinate initiatives across AI Engineering, Log Management Engineering, Security Platform Engineering, Security Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture, and Cloud Engineering.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, cloud security engineering, security architecture, or enterprise security operations.
• 5+ years leading or coordinating large-scale security engineering initiatives across multiple domains.
• 5+ years working with SIEM, EDR/XDR, log management, email security, DLP, IDS/IPS, WAF, firewalls, and cloud security platforms.
• 2+ years of experience in cloud telemetry engineering, event normalization, log pipeline optimization, and SIEM ingestion strategies.
• 2+ years designing and optimizing cross-platform integrations and interoperability frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of detection engineering, cloud logging architectures, security analytics, regulated enterprise environments, and cloud and hybrid infrastructure security.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or AWS Security Specialty certification.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering, SOAR platforms, observability frameworks, data engineering, cloud logging cost optimization, and infrastructure-as-code.
