Director, Infrastructure Engineering

Location: Onsite 5 days per week in Reston, Virginia, United States.

hirify.global is hiring an engineering leader to support data engineering operations and define strategic infrastructure road maps.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and operation of corporate infrastructure and end-to-end applications.
• Define infrastructure strategy across networking, compute, on-premises environments, and hybrid cloud systems.
• Lead, mentor, and grow an infrastructure engineering team while setting technical standards.
• Oversee system uptime, monitoring, reliability, incident response, and operational processes.
• Maintain automated solutions for large data sets and develop internal tools for experimentation and learning.
• Manage infrastructure budgets, vendor relationships, and enterprise technology evaluations.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and able and willing to obtain a government clearance.
• 8+ years of Information Technology experience across infrastructure engineering, software engineering, data security, data center operations, data storage, or corporate IT security.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience implementing and maintaining data security and infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience evaluating enterprise IT hardware based on security, lifecycle, performance, and total cost of ownership.
• Understanding of SDLC, incident response, monitoring, and operational reliability, with the ability to communicate technical requirements to business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Established government clearance.
• Active or former military experience.
• Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
