Windchill Technical Consultant (PLM)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement advanced PTC Windchill customizations using the Windchill Java API.
• Architect workflows, lifecycle templates, Object Initialization Rules, access controls, and Info*Engine tasks.
• Build custom services, event listeners, web services, REST APIs, and integrations with ERP, MES, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
• Customize Windchill user interfaces and develop reports, dashboards, and data extraction solutions.
• Plan data migrations, bulk data loading, system upgrades, performance optimization, and production support.
• Lead technical reviews, establish development standards, mentor developers, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience developing and supporting PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
• Expertise in Windchill Java API, Info*Engine, workflows, lifecycle templates, Object Initialization Rules, and access control configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Java, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, and the Windchill data model.
• Experience with integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, JMS, or middleware technologies.
• Strong understanding of PLM, Engineering Change Management, CAD data management, troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder management, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• PTC Windchill Certified Professional certification or equivalent.
• Experience with Creo, Arbortext, ThingWorx, Windchill RV&S, Codebeamer, or Navigate.
• Experience with CAD integrations, EBOM, MBOM, digital thread initiatives, cloud deployment, containerization, or AWS/Azure infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience supporting aerospace, automotive, medical device, industrial manufacturing, or defense environments.
