Senior Software Engineer (AI Inference)

Location: North America

Salary: $190,000–$225,000 per year for candidates in the U.S.; ranges may vary outside the U.S.

What you will do

• Design and ship customer-facing APIs that expose new AI model capabilities.
• Own APIs from prototype through launch and ongoing iteration.
• Scale inference infrastructure to support more than 1 million API users.
• Partner with research teams to productionize new techniques with the required latency, reliability, and usability.
• Work with customers and Applied teams to inform product design and research direction.
• Contribute to backend services, inference infrastructure, SDKs, and internal tooling.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience.
• Experience building and supporting machine learning infrastructure and/or customer-facing production APIs.
• Ability to operate effectively with ambiguous and changing research and product timelines.
• Curiosity about AI and ML and the ability to understand model behavior well enough to make sound engineering decisions.
• Strong collaboration skills when working with researchers, applied engineers, and customers.
