TL;DR
Power & Thermal Systems Engineer (Spacecraft): Leading power generation and balance assessments for configurations of Axiom Commercial Station with an accent on spacecraft power and thermal modeling, Thermal Desktop analysis, and physics-based tooling. Focus on performing trade studies, maintaining analytical databases and scripts, and validating assumptions with multidisciplinary teams.

What you will do
- Lead power generation analysis across Axiom Commercial Station configurations using Thermal Desktop.
- Perform power balance assessments using generation results and consumption profiles.
- Develop and maintain Python, MATLAB, and other tooling for physics-based power-generation assessments.
- Maintain Git-controlled scripts and databases covering power consumption, heat-sink projections, and configuration associations.
- Conduct trade studies and what-if scenarios for station power and thermal performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, validate assumptions, and communicate project status and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; an ABET-accredited degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on proficiency with Thermal Desktop and experience modeling spacecraft power and thermal systems.
- Experience developing Python-based tooling, libraries, and scripts for engineering analysis.
- Strong database and data architecture skills, including translating analytical results into reports, dashboards, and stakeholder-ready formats.
- Access to export-controlled technical data may require additional U.S. export-control screening under NASA regulations, ITAR, or EAR. Evening and weekend work may be required for critical milestones.

- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Engineering.
- Experience working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and applying agile project management methodologies.
