TL;DR
Sr. Cloud DBA (AWS): Designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available cloud database solutions for Army Human Resources Command with an accent on PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, AWS RDS, security, and data warehousing. Focus on optimizing database performance, building ETL pipelines with AWS Glue, managing IAM and encryption controls, and supporting reliable database operations.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; US citizenship required

What you will do
- Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of application databases in AWS.
- Design and manage highly available, scalable PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora databases using AWS RDS.
- Implement database security controls, including security groups, IAM policies, encryption, and Cyber and IA systems maintenance.
- Review database solutions from initial design through deployment and ongoing support.
- Develop data warehousing solutions, ETL processes using tools such as AWS Glue, and reports from multiple data sources.
- Manage scheduling, monitoring, performance tuning, and technical documentation for database systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Database Analyst in an AWS environment.
- Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, and database migration strategies such as AWS DMS.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and tools.
- Technical Level III certification as defined by DODI 8570.
- Active Secret clearance required or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be a US citizen.
Nice to have
- Experience with IBM DataStage.
- 10+ years of experience with a relevant master’s degree, or 15 years with a BA/BS degree.
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification.
