VMware Infrastructure Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage software-defined networking and storage platforms using vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.
• Automate platform operations, capacity management, and infrastructure workflows with PowerCLI and other automation tools.
• Support VMware Aria and Tanzu platforms alongside modern cloud-native workloads.
• Implement disaster recovery patterns and operate Site Recovery Manager.
• Troubleshoot issues across compute, network, and storage layers while collaborating with technical teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience; the position is intended for an experienced engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi, plus hands-on vSAN and storage policy management.
• Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking, PowerCLI scripting, automation tooling, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM, with excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States as U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates.

Nice to have

• VCP or VCAP certification.
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, VMware Cloud Foundation, or Aria Operations.
• Exposure to migration programs from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
