Software Engineer - Frontend (React)

Location: Hybrid in Manchester, United Kingdom, with office attendance one day every two weeks. Core working hours are 10am–4pm.

What you will do

• Build and maintain production web applications and customer-facing experiences used by millions of holidaymakers.
• Develop React and TypeScript interfaces with responsive, accessible and performant user experiences.
• Develop and consume backend APIs while working with backend services across the application stack.
• Build or support cloud applications in environments such as AWS.
• Apply automated testing, monitoring, observability, debugging and troubleshooting across frontend and backend systems.
• Own features from development through production and collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts and engineers.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript/frontend engineering practices.
• Experience building scalable, production-grade web applications and performant, responsive, accessible user experiences.
• Ability to develop and consume backend APIs and understand how frontend applications interact with backend services.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, automated testing, application monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently deliver well-defined engineering work, make pragmatic technical decisions and take ownership through production.
• Clear communication, collaborative working habits and openness to feedback and continued development.

Nice to have

• Experience in ecommerce, travel, marketplaces or another high-traffic consumer platform.

Hiring process

• Initial call with the Talent Acquisition team.
• Hiring Manager meeting, behavioural and ways-of-working interview, followed by technical pairing and system design.
• All three interview stages are held on Microsoft Teams.
