IoT Platform Engineer (IIoT)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build connected, data-driven industrial systems from the factory floor to enterprise cloud platforms.
• Architect end-to-end IIoT solutions covering edge data acquisition, secure connectivity, cloud ingestion, real-time analytics, and operational dashboards.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready technical solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to code reviews and design reviews while mentoring more junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot systems and produce clear technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of IIoT or industrial software engineering experience; the posting lists six or more years of overall experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Sparkplug B, and at least one major cloud IoT platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with edge runtimes such as Greengrass or IoT Edge, streaming and real-time analytics platforms, and OT/IT integration patterns.
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity standards, troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital-twin platforms or predictive maintenance ML models.
• Exposure to InfluxDB or TimescaleDB.
• Familiarity with Unified Namespace patterns.
• Industrial certifications such as ISA or IEC 62443.
