Senior AI Scientist, Advanced Analytics & AI

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 2–3 days per week on-site and the remaining days remote. Legally eligible work authorization at the specified location is required; a valid work or study permit may be required.

What you will do

• Develop AI solutions for complex business challenges using statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, and optimization.
• Work with Global Asset Management and Wealth Management to translate business needs and data into actionable insights.
• Own AI solutions end to end, from experimentation and research through deployment into production-ready systems.
• Engineer features and develop data products with data scientists and engineers using structured and unstructured datasets.
• Apply technical thought leadership and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in machine learning, natural language processing, natural language understanding, or related AI techniques.
• Hands-on Python experience, including modular non-notebook code, object-oriented programming, design patterns, API development, and scalable software design.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, SQL or Spark, and Git.
• Strong knowledge of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, model selection, training, evaluation, and statistical analysis.
• Experience with generative models such as GANs, VAEs, and transformers, plus prompt engineering and large language model integration.
• Degree in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, software engineering, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure and Databricks for deploying and scaling AI models.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AI lifecycle management tools.
