TL;DR
AI Scientist (Machine Learning): Designing and shipping advanced machine learning systems from research prototypes to robust production pipelines with an accent on deep learning, model evaluation, and scalable engineering. Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do
- Design and ship advanced machine learning systems for high-impact business problems.
- Bridge applied AI research and production engineering across the full lifecycle, from problem framing and experimentation to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Train, fine-tune, and evaluate deep learning models at non-trivial scale.
- Build robust, scalable, and well-instrumented production pipelines with appropriate observability and safeguards.
- Evaluate current research techniques and adapt them for real-world applications.
- Communicate complex AI and machine learning methods clearly in written and verbal form.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a closely related field, or equivalent applied experience.
- 6+ years of combined research and applied machine learning engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and the theoretical foundations of modern machine learning.
- Experience with distributed training, mixed-precision training, accelerator hardware, and taking research prototypes into production.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, EAD Holder, or H-1B transfer candidate; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.
Nice to have
- Published research at top-tier AI or machine learning venues.
- Experience with large language model training, fine-tuning, or evaluation.
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, or multimodal architectures.
- Exposure to responsible AI, model evaluation, and alignment practices.
- Experience contributing to open-source machine learning projects.
