Enterprise Account Executive - Retail / CPG / Trading (AI)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work with staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Own revenue targets by winning new enterprise accounts and expanding relationships with Japanese retailers, CPG manufacturers, and general trading companies.
• Build and execute territory plans across supermarket and convenience store groups, specialty retailers, food and beverage companies, consumer goods manufacturers, and sogo shosha.
• Lead consultative sales processes with CIOs, CDOs, CMOs, and supply chain, merchandising, and DX leaders.
• Position AI solutions for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization, trade and supply chain operations, and customer experience.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Applied AI, and Partnerships teams to integrate solutions with enterprise technology stacks and meet Japan’s APPI data privacy requirements.

Requirements

• Enterprise sales experience in Japan with significant exposure to retail, CPG, and/or trading company accounts.
• Experience managing complex sales processes and securing strategic deals with large-scale consumer and trading organizations.
• Ability to navigate stakeholder ecosystems across merchandising, supply chain, digital, marketing, and business divisions.
• Demonstrated success exceeding revenue targets and managing pipelines through seasonal retail cycles and consensus-driven procurement.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with advanced AI systems and an interest in safe and responsible frontier AI.
• Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English.
• Strategic, analytical, and relationship-focused approach to the Japanese retail, CPG, and trading sectors.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, startup-like environments.
