Green Freight Intern (Logistics)

Location: Beijing, China; hybrid, with on-site work in the ICCT Beijing office at least 2 days per week

Salary: CNY 3,362 per month for a 3-day-per-week schedule, or proportional to the workload permitted by the university

hirify.global is an independent, global, non-profit research organization conducting data-driven research to reduce the health and environmental impacts of transportation.

What you will do

• Contribute to research on green freight policies, intermodal development, and logistics supply chain decarbonization in China and advanced markets.
• Support technical analysis, reporting, presentations, and stakeholder meetings for freight-related projects.
• Draft report communication and outreach materials.
• Complete ad hoc research and project tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Be a senior undergraduate or graduate student, preferably studying transportation, environmental science and engineering, automotive engineering, geoscience, or planning.
• Demonstrate excellent quantitative, analytical, and research skills.
• Have experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis and visualization.
• Have proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and strong spoken and written English.
• Be available to work at least 3 days per week, including at least 2 on-site days per week in the Beijing office, for a minimum of 6 months.

Nice to have

• Advanced Excel, coding, statistical, database, or GIS skills.
• Experience or knowledge in transportation planning, vehicle emissions, automotive technologies, or environmental data analysis.
• Understanding of climate change and transportation and enthusiasm for working with researchers and international colleagues.
