TL;DR
MSL (Material Science Lab) Intern Data Scientist (ML Model Development & Full-Stack Integration) (AI): Developing image-classification algorithms and machine learning models for defect, particle, and contamination analysis with an accent on expert decision modeling, model deployment, and full-stack integration. Focus on designing training and evaluation workflows, building monitoring dashboards, integrating backend services with frontend interfaces, and optimizing scalable ML systems.
Location: Korat, Thailand

operates a large manufacturing facility producing cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finished drives.
What you will do
- Create human decision algorithms based on expert engineer workflows for defect, particle, and contamination classification.
- Design and train image-classification models using labelled datasets and machine learning methods.
- Develop a full-stack dashboard for model deployment, monitoring, validation, and real-time performance tracking.
- Integrate backend services with frontend interfaces and create automated image-classification workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, laboratory teams, and IT to define requirements and configure server capacity.
- Document development work, prepare training materials, communicate project progress, and summarize results for the supervisor.
Requirements
- Degree or master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript, C++, and SQL.
- Fundamental knowledge of machine learning, especially CNNs, transfer learning, image processing, and model evaluation and optimization.
- Experience with Python ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Understanding of full-stack development, REST APIs, Docker, Git, Linux, databases, cloud platforms, and virtual machines.
- Fluent spoken and written English communication is required.
Nice to have
- Project experience in ML model development and deployment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and connecting frontend and backend components.
- Knowledge of IoT, KNIME, MATLAB, vision systems, data networking, data center management, and coding projects.
