Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Firmware & Machine Control (C/C++): Developing and sustaining firmware, machine-control software, automation applications, and vision systems for HDD backend test equipment with an accent on hardware-software interfaces, embedded communication protocols, robotics, and production integration. Focus on designing state machines, integrating motion control and machine vision, debugging and validating hardware integrations, and deploying reliable systems for high-volume manufacturing.
Location: Onsite in Teparuk, Thailand

develops and manufactures data storage technologies, with the Teparuk site producing nano-recording heads for hard disk drives.
What you will do
- Develop and sustain firmware for PCBA boards, including hardware-software interfaces, low-level communication protocols, bug fixes, performance improvements, and firmware upgrades.
- Design machine-control systems, state machines, and software architectures for HDD backend test equipment.
- Integrate motion control, robotics, machine vision, and industrial communication interfaces into production test platforms.
- Select and qualify vision hardware, develop vision recipes, and perform system calibration.
- Manage source control, code reviews, software releases, hardware integration testing, validation, qualification, and production deployment.
- Troubleshoot software and equipment issues, support Linux-based development and PC setup, and contribute to selected AI and machine learning initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- More than 5 years of hands-on software and firmware development experience for test equipment systems.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, C#, Java, and Python, with embedded systems experience using microcontrollers and RTOS firmware.
- At least 3 years of C#/.NET development experience in automation equipment software.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, state machines, software architecture, GitHub source control, motion control, robotics, equipment integration, and machine vision.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, validation, production support, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
