Senior UI Engineer (Game UI): Developing and optimizing menus, widgets, and supporting tools for the Call of Duty user experience with an accent on Lua, C/C++, model-view architecture, and console performance. Focus on building UI software for PC and console platforms, solving problems in large codebases, and collaborating across UI, design, engineering, QA, and other game development disciplines.
Location: Melbourne, Australia; hybrid working capacity

What you will do
- Develop, modify, debug, and test UI software in Lua and C/C++.
- Engineer menus and widgets across the Call of Duty user experience using proprietary UI editors.
- Deploy UI software on PC and console platforms, evaluate performance, and optimize implementations.
- Collaborate with UI/UX disciplines, designers, engineers, production, art, audio, and QA.
- Co-develop shared-engine features with other Activision studios.
- Maintain developer tools and document software and features for engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of UI experience in game development.
- Strong knowledge of C/C++, data structures, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Lua or a similar scripting language.
- Ability to debug, solve problems, and quickly understand large, unfamiliar, and complex codebases.
- Ability to write efficient, clean, readable, and reliable code.
- Strong collaboration, coordination, communication, and team-support skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI coding and agentic frameworks.
- Proficiency with C# and experience with modern consoles.
- Experience with UI authoring tools such as Unity UI or Rive.
- Experience with version control and continuous integration.
- Interest in UX and knowledge of Call of Duty or other FPS games.
