UX Designer 2 (AI)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand. Hybrid work model with the option to work from home 2 days per week. Applicants must reside in New Zealand, or if offshore, be New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or residents with valid travel conditions.

What you will do

• Design user-centered experiences for desktop and mobile products, using AI tools to accelerate iteration while maintaining quality.
• Define user problems, requirements, constraints, and scope with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and stakeholders.
• Plan and conduct UX audits, heuristic reviews, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and UX measurement.
• Partner with UX Research to plan studies, recruit and moderate participants, synthesize findings, and validate designs.
• Facilitate design critiques, workshops, research presentations, and collaborative design activities to maintain shared understanding.
• Contribute to the design system, cross-product consistency, UX practices, documentation, and effective AI integration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of digital or product design experience, primarily in SaaS.
• Strong knowledge of UX and interaction design, including user scenarios, user flows, rapid prototyping, and user behavior.
• Proficiency with AI-powered design tools such as Figma AI, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, usability, accessibility, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
• Ability to communicate design processes and solutions clearly, collaborate with stakeholders, and make user-centric decisions.
• Understanding of modern design systems and component-based design practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with or willingness to develop AI-enhanced design and research practices.
• Examples of micro-interaction work.
