Platform Security Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $185,000–$260,000 annually, with potential variable compensation, equity, and benefits depending on the role.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and test secure software for core platform functionality.
• Build authentication, authorization, API security, secure communication, data storage, and access-control capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Conduct security code reviews, identify vulnerabilities, and implement security enhancements.
• Develop automated security testing procedures and participate in security incident response.
• Document security processes, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• BA/BS in computer science or a related field; an MS is a strong plus.
• At least 5 years of software development experience with a strong focus on security.
• Experience designing and implementing secure authentication and authorization systems.
• Strong understanding of secure coding principles, including OWASP Top 10, plus secure communication protocols such as TLS/SSL.
• Experience with security testing tools and methodologies, including static code analysis and penetration testing.
• Strong coding skills in languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++, with experience in cloud security and container security across AWS, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
