What you will do
- Own application engineering strategy and execution across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Design reliable systems for AI-powered workflows, including state management, orchestration, tool use, retries, fallbacks, and failure handling.
- Build APIs and abstractions connecting AI systems with real-world product experiences.
- Lead a small team of senior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on mentorship.
- Make architectural trade-offs across latency, reliability, cost, security, and user experience.
- Establish observability, monitoring, testing, and operational excellence for production systems.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
- Strong hands-on experience building and shipping production backend systems.
- Experience building AI-powered products or systems integrating modern ML and LLM capabilities.
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
- Experience working across backend and client platforms, with deep expertise in at least one.
- High standards for code quality, reliability, ownership, and engineering fundamentals.
