TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer (Stamping): Advancing maintenance systems and optimizing press and automation equipment for stamping operations with an accent on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability, and manufacturing performance. Focus on designing and validating press system solutions, improving MTTR, MTBF, uptime, and downtime, and implementing corrective actions across mechanical and manufacturing systems.
Location: Onsite in Parma, Ohio, United States; full-time presence at the specified location is required

What you will do
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for press system issues.
- Troubleshoot and optimize mechanical, manufacturing, machinery, and automation systems.
- Design, specify, procure, integrate, and validate press system solutions for stamping operations.
- Develop maintenance plans, technical documentation, and spare-parts requirements.
- Monitor MTTR, MTBF, downtime, uptime, safety, quality, throughput, reliability, and cost performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, controls engineers, plant personnel, suppliers, and skilled trades; support equipment training.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in press shop production and maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Understanding of engineering theory, manufacturing methods, and equipment operating principles.
- Experience managing projects with changing production schedules, budget constraints, and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, plus CAD and engineering systems such as AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SOLIDWORKS, Teamcenter, or Teamcenter Visualization.
- Work authorization that does not require GM immigration sponsorship is required; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
Nice to have
- 5+ years of experience in stamping and maintenance.
- Experience with Transfer Press systems and industrial machinery or automation troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with SAP and MAXIMO maintenance management systems.
