Staff Fullstack Software Engineer (React/Next.js)

What you will do

• Set technical direction across the UI, BFF, GraphQL APIs, and backend data systems.
• Drive architecture decisions across multiple teams, write foundational design documents, and deliver complex core components.
• Diagnose systemic issues across frontend, backend subgraphs, service boundaries, and authorization layers.
• Own the evolution and reliability of the GraphQL federation graph and data contracts.
• Define SLOs, tracing, dashboards, and reliability practices for real-time WebSocket and device-control flows.
• Mentor engineers, lead design discussions, and improve type safety, CI/CD performance, legacy-system maintenance, and on-call ergonomics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with TypeScript across client and server applications.
• Production experience leading architectures built with React and Next.js App Router.
• Deep experience with Node.js backend services, preferably NestJS, and GraphQL including Apollo Server, federation, subscriptions, schema design, and DataLoader patterns.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL, query builders or ORMs such as Knex, database migrations, and WebSocket-based real-time systems.
• Knowledge of OAuth/OIDC, JWT, ABAC/ReBAC, Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and technical leadership skills, including the ability to work with complex legacy codebases.

Nice to have

• Experience with RabbitMQ, MQTT, Cedar, OPA, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Coralogix, Turbo, or Bun.
• Familiarity with physical security and video streaming platforms.
