TL;DR
Electrical Modeller (Rail Infrastructure): Developing and coordinating detailed 3D electrical models and design documentation for stations, tunnels, depots, maintenance facilities, and rail systems using Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and digital engineering tools with an accent on BIM coordination, constructability, and compliance with Australian Standards. Focus on modelling power distribution, lighting, communications, security, earthing, and lightning protection while resolving interdisciplinary design issues across a major rail infrastructure project.

What you will do

  • Develop detailed 3D electrical models and design documentation using Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other digital engineering tools.
  • Support electrical design delivery from concept through detailed design and construction for stations, tunnels, depots, maintenance facilities, and rail infrastructure.
  • Model and coordinate power distribution, lighting, communications, security, earthing, lightning protection, station services, and related systems.
  • Prepare drawings and documentation aligned with Australian Standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, BIM coordination activities, interdisciplinary workshops, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Deliver assigned electrical work packages while resolving modelling, coordination, quality, cost, schedule, safety, and constructability issues.

Requirements

  • Associate Diploma, Diploma in Engineering, Advanced Diploma, or a related qualification is highly regarded.
  • Experience as an Electrical Designer, Drafter, or Modeller on transport, rail, buildings, defence, utilities, energy, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD, with experience producing accurate electrical models and drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of power, lighting, communications, security, fire and life safety systems, and associated infrastructure.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary BIM environments, including model coordination and digital engineering workflows.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Nice to have

  • Experience using Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, Bluebeam, or PDF-XChange.
  • Additional experience on rail, transport, buildings, defence, utilities, or major infrastructure projects.
