Independent Non-Executive Director (Resident), Seychelles (Crypto)

Location: Seychelles; resident role requiring physical presence, in-person board and management meetings, and the right to reside and work in Seychelles.

What you will do

• Provide independent challenge and strategic guidance on strategy, risk, conduct, and management performance.
• Hold management and executive directors accountable to shareholders and stakeholders.
• Support the Seychelles entity’s board composition, competence, fitness, and propriety requirements under the VASP Act.
• Attend board and management meetings in person and engage with the Seychelles Financial Services Authority and local advisers.
• Oversee financial information, controls, risk management, succession planning, executive remuneration, and board culture.
• Serve on one or more board committees as required.

Requirements

• Resident in Seychelles and currently entitled to reside and work there.
• Able to satisfy the Seychelles Financial Services Authority’s fitness and propriety assessment.
• Board-level or senior governance experience in regulated financial services, banking, insurance, fiduciary, or corporate services.
• Working knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing obligations, and the Seychelles regulatory environment.
• Financial literacy sufficient to assess financial statements, controls, and risk reporting independently.
• Fluent English with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, plus independence of mind and willingness to challenge management.

Nice to have

• Experience in virtual assets, fintech, payments, or capital markets.
• Prior regulatory experience.
• Experience chairing an audit, risk, or compliance committee.
• Experience overseeing group structures with operations outside the licensed entity’s jurisdiction.
• An established network among Seychelles regulators, professional advisers, and the financial services community.
