Quality Assurance Automation Test Engineer (Hardware/Embedded)

Location: On-site in the Oslo lab, Fornebu, Norway. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

What you will do

• Test hardware and software products hands-on from early prototypes through release.
• Investigate difficult-to-reproduce issues across embedded, Android, and Linux layers and collaborate with engineering on root-cause analysis.
• Expand automated test coverage and convert manual checks into repeatable automation.
• Integrate new devices into the laboratory and test environments.
• Maintain and extend laboratory infrastructure, tooling, and test setups used by R&D.

Requirements

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to analyse and reproduce complex system problems.
• Strong interest in test automation for hardware-adjacent systems.
• Programming knowledge, ideally Python.
• Curiosity, troubleshooting ability, and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
• Good written and verbal English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, computer science, or a similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating hardware and software into automated test environments.
• Experience with or interest in CI/CD, Docker, Linux, and infrastructure tooling.
• Embedded software, Android, or Linux experience.
• Familiarity with agile development and testing.
• Exposure to Bash, C++, Git, YAML, Gherkin, functional testing, or machine learning.
