Principal Engineer (Cloud Architecture)

What you will do

• Architect, build, and deploy containerized and serverless cloud applications supporting microservices, data pipelines, and AI workloads.
• Lead the transformation of monolithic systems into modular, domain-driven microservices across multiple regions.
• Define regional deployment, traffic routing, failover, disaster recovery, and latency-optimization patterns.
• Design robust data synchronization and conflict-resolution strategies for distributed systems.
• Ensure architectures meet data residency and privacy requirements, including GDPR and PDPA.
• Establish technical standards, review processes, documentation, and architectural guidance while mentoring engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership.
• Proven experience designing cloud-based microservices architectures and migrating monolithic systems.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, multi-region deployments, service meshes, global failover, CAP theorem trade-offs, and eventual consistency.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one major cloud platform such as AWS or GCP.
• Ability to communicate with engineering, security, product, operations, and business stakeholders and produce architectural documentation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development practices.
