Middle ML Engineer (Applied AI)

Location: On-site in Astana, Kazakhstan — Astana, 47/2 Kabanbay Batyr Avenue

Salary: 600,000–800,000 KZT per month, net

Develops products using machine learning for internal products and business use cases.

What you will do

• Develop machine learning solutions for internal products and business use cases.
• Train, test, and improve machine learning models, including multilingual transformer models for NLP.
• Collect, prepare, clean, and improve datasets for real-world ML tasks.
• Apply regression models and other classical machine learning approaches.
• Integrate ML logic into Python backend services and develop ML-related APIs with FastAPI.
• Work with REST APIs and WebSocket connections while collaborating with backend developers and product colleagues.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of professional experience with machine learning or applied AI.
• Strong Python skills and practical experience working with real-world data.
• Experience with multilingual transformers, dataset collection and preparation, and regression models.
• Experience with FastAPI, REST APIs, and WebSocket connections.
• Ability to work on practical ML tasks and collaborate with backend and product teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience with agent-based systems and LLM-based applications.
• Basic familiarity with PostgreSQL or other databases.
