Senior Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, United States only

Salary: $174,250–$205,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Lead security design, implementation, and controls for AI infrastructure, AI agents, and internal AI-powered workflows.
• Own threat modeling for AI-specific risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, model abuse, and insecure tool use.
• Build security tooling, automated checks, and controls for validating, logging, and auditing AI outputs.
• Automate GRC evidence collection, control monitoring, and compliance workflows using platforms such as Vanta or similar tools.
• Strengthen AWS and GCP infrastructure security, including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and secure-by-default infrastructure.
• Improve GitHub security, software supply chain controls, CSPM/CNAPP monitoring, and CI/CD pipeline security.

Requirements

• 8+ years of security engineering experience, including hands-on experience in at least two areas: AI/ML security, cloud infrastructure security, or GRC compliance engineering.
• Practical experience securing LLM applications, AI agents, or ML pipelines, with an understanding of common AI-specific threats.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS and GCP security services, IAM models, GitHub security controls, and secure software supply chains.
• Hands-on experience with Wiz or a comparable CSPM/CNAPP platform.
• Experience building automation and tooling through scripting, APIs, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience building security programs from scratch and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience building or securing AI agent frameworks, tool-calling systems, or internal AI platforms.
• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks and using GRC platforms such as Vanta or Drata.
• Background in detection engineering or internal security tooling.
• Experience as an early or first specialized security hire on a small team.
• Experience working with AI infrastructure platforms such as Modal or CoreWeave.
