TL;DR
Threat and Analytics Lead (Fintech): Building data-driven fraud and financial crime risk analysis across the customer lifecycle with an accent on large-scale data analysis, statistical techniques, and analytical frameworks. Focus on uncovering emerging threats, measuring control effectiveness, validating hypotheses, and translating complex findings into decisions that improve detection and reduce fraud losses.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Base salary: €4,730–€7,100 gross per month, including the 13th and 14th salary. Compensation is generally offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range until performance can be assessed.

What you will do
- Build a data-driven understanding of fraud and financial crime risk.
- Analyse large, complex datasets to identify emerging threats, patterns, trends, and risk concentrations.
- Assess the effectiveness of controls across fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk management.
- Develop analytical frameworks and approaches that improve risk assessment and prioritisation of investments.
- Translate evidence and complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Data Science, and fraud and financial crime strategy teams.
Requirements
- Strong analytical capability with large datasets using SQL, Python, and BI tools.
- Experience applying statistical and analytical techniques to identify patterns, measure performance, and assess risk.
- Ability to communicate complex data and actionable insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to influence across multiple stakeholder groups without direct ownership.
- Strong ownership, structured problem-solving, and the ability to independently develop and validate hypotheses.
- Experience operating at a senior level with high complexity, autonomy, and expected business impact.
Nice to have
- Experience analysing fraud or financial crime data in payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, or Data Science teams.
- Experience building or scaling analytical functions.
