TL;DR
Project Director (Nuclear): Defining and delivering highly complex, high-risk nuclear infrastructure projects and project suites with an accent on project governance, safety, supply chain strategy, and stakeholder management. Focus on leading multidisciplinary teams, controlling projects with lifecycle spend of up to £2bn, managing nuclear safety and security risks, and delivering outcomes under extensive government scrutiny.

Location: Cheshire. Applicants must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is not available.

hirify.global delivers major nuclear, defence, infrastructure, new-build, and decommissioning programmes, including a 20-year infrastructure pipeline supporting the transformation of the Sellafield site.

What you will do

  • Define, establish, and deliver highly complex, high-risk nuclear projects or suites of projects with lifecycle spend of up to £2bn.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and contractor organisations of up to 500 indirect reports.
  • Establish project structures, resource plans, execution strategies, business cases, baselines, and governance arrangements.
  • Develop and manage supply chain strategies, including specifications, incentivisation, contract performance, and work authorisation.
  • Manage project risks, interdependencies, stakeholder interfaces, reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead strategic negotiations with customers, stakeholders, major suppliers, and government representatives.

Requirements

  • APM Registered Project Professional (RPP), APM Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), or Senior Project Manager Level 4 qualification.
  • Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive relevant experience.
  • Extensive project management experience delivering large, highly complex multidisciplinary projects in the nuclear industry or another regulated, safety-critical environment.
  • Experience in nuclear engineering or a similar safety-critical environment, including project planning across all project stages.
  • Proven experience leading people and working in a matrix organisation, with strong leadership and influencing skills.
