Field Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Onsite at the central Sydney headquarters, Australia; travel within Greater Sydney at least once per week and regular travel to field sites.

What you will do

• Create high-quality datasets for AI model training and drone detection algorithm development.
• Record radio-frequency data in anechoic chambers and varied field environments.
• Research and analyse RF signatures emitted by advanced drone platforms.
• Configure RF emitters and perform hands-on soldering.
• Process and organise raw data using the Linux terminal.
• Improve data capture workflows through process and technology enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, especially aerospace, mechanical, or mechatronic engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Confidence operating a Linux terminal.
• Ability to perform hands-on technical work and solve new problems reliably.
• Availability to work onsite in Sydney, Australia and travel within Greater Sydney at least once per week.

Nice to have

• Exposure to the machine learning lifecycle.
• Experience with computer networking.
• Interest in drones and current industry trends.
