Location: Auckland City Campus, Auckland, New Zealand; full-time onsite position, 40 hours per week. Applicants should outline their ability to relocate if required.
Salary: NZ$99,788–NZ$119,204 for Lecturer; NZ$126,863–NZ$158,904 for Senior Lecturer; from NZ$165,808 for Associate Professor.

What you will do
- Conduct and publish research in applied econometrics, microeconometrics and/or macroeconometrics.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate economics courses, including introductory courses and specialist subjects.
- Use appropriate learning technologies to support research-informed teaching and student learning.
- Supervise research students and contribute to postgraduate education.
- Build research partnerships, seek external funding and engage with academic, professional and non-academic communities.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration, departmental service and university committees.
Requirements
- PhD in Economics or near completion.
- Demonstrated research excellence and a clear, ambitious research programme.
- Commitment to high-quality, research-informed teaching.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate research and future plans clearly.
- Ability to contribute to service, citizenship and academic activities within the Department, Faculty and University.
Nice to have
- Research complementary to areas such as international trade, international finance, open economy macroeconomics, financial economics, artificial intelligence and the macroeconomy, fintech, energy economics, public economics or labour economics.
- Experience developing research partnerships, obtaining grants and supervising postgraduate research.
