Full Stack Web Developer (Laravel/Vue)

Location: Fully remote, work from home; part-time contract role with flexible hours, including 1–2 hours of weekend availability.

Compensation: Starting at $80/hour.

Kiln Fire provides a billing and studio management platform for community pottery studios, supporting memberships, classes, billing, retail sales, firing fees, reservations, and inventory.

What you will do

• Improve platform reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Diagnose and resolve customer-reported bugs with the Customer Success team.
• Build and enhance internal administrative tools.
• Develop new features across the Laravel and Vue.js application.
• Integrate Stripe APIs for billing, payments, subscriptions, and connected accounts.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and development planning.

Requirements

• Several years of professional Laravel development experience.
• Professional experience with PHP, Laravel, Vue.js Options API, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, REST APIs, and Git.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently and reason through unfamiliar code.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Ability to understand, review, debug, extend, and thoroughly test AI-assisted code rather than relying on AI as a substitute for engineering judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Stripe API.
• Experience with DigitalOcean.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS.
