Software Engineer - Machine Learning (AI) (Python/SQL/AWS/GCP): Building and deploying machine learning pipelines and AI products for property insights, with an accent on Generative AI, LLMs, predictive analytics, and model lifecycle management. Focus on prototyping new ML solutions, analyzing data quality, and operating production software through continuous delivery and “you build it; you run it” practices.
Location: Hybrid, permanently based in Sydney, Australia

What you will do
- Design, code, test, and deploy machine learning pipelines using Python, SQL, AWS, GCP, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Build AI products with Generative AI, LLMs, and traditional machine learning techniques.
- Prototype and evaluate Proofs of Concept in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Support data processes through ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools.
- Analyze data coverage and quality across internal and external data sets.
- Apply test-driven development, continuous delivery, pair programming, and shared operational ownership.
Requirements
- Ability to code in Python, SQL, R, C#, or a similar programming language.
- Passion for machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, time series analysis and forecasting, and software development.
- In-depth knowledge of the machine learning model lifecycle.
- Experience with ML and hosting libraries such as XGBoost, LightGBM, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face models, Transformers, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Experience cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large data sets and identifying incorrect or inconsistent data.
- Basic understanding of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, plus a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar discipline.
