Junior Lighting/Compositing Artist (On-Site)

Location: On-site in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Animation entertainment studio producing feature and episodic CG content for distributors, broadcasters, and major streaming platforms.

What you will do

• Light, render, and composite 3D animated shots through approval using Maya, Arnold, and Nuke.
• Modify and enhance existing lighting setups to support storytelling and maintain continuity across scenes.
• Tune lighting passes in compositing to improve image quality.
• Collaborate with Art Directors, Supervisors, Production, and other artists to match visual direction and ensure consistency across shots.
• Identify technical issues, communicate progress, and incorporate feedback.
• Meet assigned shot quotas and deadlines, including occasional overtime when required.

Requirements

• Basic experience with Maya and Arnold.
• Understanding of lighting fundamentals and interest in storytelling through light.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to receive feedback.
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, British Columbia.
• Employment is covered by a union collective agreement.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Nuke or other compositing software.
