Associate, Investment Operations

Location: Newport Beach, California or Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $75,000–$81,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Support the implementation of new instruments and markets across investment products.
• Identify, measure, monitor, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks in investment processes.
• Oversee outsourced service providers and custodians, ensuring accurate and high-quality output.
• Partner with Portfolio Managers, clients, brokers, custodians, Legal & Compliance, and global operations teams.
• Drive process improvement projects, coordinate stakeholders, and manage dependencies across sub-projects.
• Prepare management reports, presentations, deliverable updates, records, and gap analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, mathematical, organizational, communication, and business-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives, meet stringent deadlines, and resolve issues from start to finish.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and PivotTables; willingness to learn Microsoft Power Platform.
• Knowledge of financial products such as derivatives, structured fixed income, equities, and alternative investments.
• Ability to work from Newport Beach, CA or Austin, TX.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, Smartsheet, Appian, or equivalent project management tools.
• Experience in automation implementation, SQL, database querying, or additional coding.
• Knowledge of AI integration opportunities.
• New market onboarding experience and knowledge of foreign exchange or emerging markets.
