Associate, Investment Operations (AI)

Location: Newport Beach, California or Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $87,000–$93,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support the implementation of new instruments and markets across investment products.
• Identify, evaluate, monitor, and mitigate operational risks in investment processes.
• Oversee outsourced service providers and custodians to ensure accurate, high-quality output.
• Analyze trade lifecycle data, fund-level data, exceptions, and reporting requirements to improve data quality and management information.
• Drive process improvement and strategic initiatives, coordinating stakeholders and building consensus across complex projects.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, clients, brokers, custodians, Legal & Compliance, and global front, middle, and back offices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, mathematical, reading-comprehension, and business-writing skills.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly, manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Pivot Tables; willingness to learn Microsoft Power Platform.
• Knowledge of financial products including derivatives, structured fixed income, equities, and alternative investments.
• Experience with foreign exchange, emerging markets, new-market onboarding, and operational risk is desirable but not required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Confluence, Smartsheet, Appian, or equivalent project-management applications.
• Experience with automation implementation, SQL, database querying, or additional coding.
• Knowledge of AI integration opportunities in investment operations.
