Software Development Engineer - Document Intelligence (AI)

Location: USA, CA, Pleasanton. Flex Work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $148,000–$222,000 USD for Pleasanton; additional US locations: $123,900–$222,000 USD. The role may also include bonus compensation and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Build and maintain AI platform capabilities for tool calling, multi-agent architectures, planning, reasoning, and action execution.
• Develop secure, scalable RESTful services and ML infrastructure using Python and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to multi-tenant runtime architectures supporting inference at the scale of millions of users.
• Translate product requirements into functional technical designs with cross-functional partners.
• Apply MLOps practices including automation, observability, CI/CD, and production deployment.
• Participate in design reviews, code quality initiatives, and knowledge-sharing with senior engineers and ML researchers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development engineering experience, including designing, developing, and deploying software solutions.
• 2+ years of Python experience shipping production code and systems.
• 2+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines and working with large-scale datasets.
• 2+ years deploying production services to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and using Docker or Kubernetes for MLOps.
• Experience with generative models, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, distributed systems, performance optimization, PostgreSQL, Redis, and API development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
